pranayama workshop

  • The Daily Sweat 65 Portland RD, Building A, Unit D Kennebunk United States (map)

prana, the ancient sanskrit word for breath, is the vital life force energy that moves within and connects each one of us. life experiences can cause prana to become stagnant, causing energy blockages and muscle tension. pranayama is a system of deliberate techniques used to move prana through the body to calm the mind and boost the nervous system, improve oxygen saturation, reduce heart rate and blood pressure as well as many other physiological benefits. this workshop will explore how your kidneys are your personal waters, how they function by cleansing the body of waste and maintaining the balance of fluids in the body. your kidneys are what keeps things flowing and gets prana moving through your body, so when you feel stuck or sluggish, it's time to stir up those stagnant waters to allow breath and energy to flow freely.

you’ll be given an at home guide to a morning + evening breathwork practice that can be worked into any daily routine. this workshop will begin with 30 minutes to set your intention, a brief introduction to prana + the subtle body, 30 minutes of gentle movement, before moving into a 60-minute pranayama. or breathwork practice. bring energy + restoration to yourself this season by tapping into your internal rhythms.
